The Shoes That Touched The Grammy Stage

And Sold For 3 Times The Price of Highest Auctioned Air Jordan’s

One of a Kind

Often in these editions, we’re talking about a pair of sneakers. Let’s rephrase that. Pairs of sneakers.

It’s usually super limited, but it at least leaves a chance for some people to scoop them up. But with this sneaker, that’s not the case.

Because we’re talking about the Yeezy Grammy’s and the record they set when auctioned off.

Little spoiler. It’s a lot of money.

Rewind Time

Let’s take it back to 2008. It may be a new year, but we’re rewinding a bit. 16 years to be exact. Time does fly.

Kanye was at the Grammy’s, and not just as a viewer. He ended the night with eight nominations, with four resulting in awards. Not a bad ratio.

Not only did he win this many awards, but he also had a pretty exciting performance with Daft Punk, with their song “Stronger” followed by “Hey Mama.”

So where’s the shoe? Well, as you may have guessed, they’re referred to as “Grammy’s” for a reason. It’s because he wore them there, that fateful night.

Price Tag

So let’s look at what a super high shoe sells for. An Air Jordan 1, which the man MJ himself actually wore (not to be confused with Michael Jackson, of course), sold for $615,000. Not too shabby.

But believe it or not, these Yeezy Grammy’s did something a little more impressive than that.

Wanna take a guess? $1 mill? Nahhh…chump change. $1.5 mill? Eh still low.

$2 mill? Are you kidding me, that’s insulting. Actually wait, hold up. Yeah.

$1.8 million. That was the final sale price. In April of 2021, someone submitted that bid, and no one went above it.

Sotehby said,

“The Air Yeezy was an entirely new silhouette — created for an artist rather than an athlete, and paved the way for many of the artist collaborations of today.”

Sotehby is one of the world’s largest auction houses and brokers of art, collectibles, jewelry, and real estate.

They also just so happened to be the auction house that sold these Yeezy’s for the record price.

Since, there’s only 1 pair, and it’s gonna cost you around $2 million or more, we figured just show you a picture.

Unless of course you want to reach out to the owner of them to purchase, in which case, we are looking for some contact info now.
